There’s been a lot of talk over in our group about Olioboard and how it’s going to have some type of service to match designers to clients and you can earn commish. Which led to a bunch of questions that aren’t addressed by Olioboard on their page. I’ve reached out to them and hope to hear from them soon.
In the mean time I think the perfect solution is here. You remember when I was talking earlier this year about Wecora was e-Decorating’s best friend, well they are still BFFs but are better than ever and quite possible my dream come true!
They have turned into this indispensable tool. And not tool like that toad Guy Fieri. A tool you are going to love and be so excited about.
Stephanie from Wecora was gracious enough to give me a tour of the new digs and I am super excited, it almost makes me want to do a little interior design on the side. (!)
So the deal is you can create boards. Boards for projects where you get the bookmarklet and shop where ever your want and bring it into the Wecora program. You can pull in the image, and the price, the link where you got it, all that jazz. Then it’s in your “file” (which is cool because I would get in the habit of crushing on a lamp and somehow it would end up in a couple different projects because it was more awesome than a night alone with a straight George Michael). And you choose to keep it public or private.
So, you can create this mood board, which it automatically tags each item, so then you and your client can talk about the same item without you having to go back in and tag everything (timesuck!).
But wait, where are you talking about this project? In Wecora. YES! You chat in there so there is a record of your discussion (and it’s there forever so those certain clients can’t say they didn’t say something later like some people we know, do). And no more email inbox bulging full of emails that you’ll have to sort through.
And yes, you can add text, notes, etc. Oh, and it’s meant to be a quick system. Like back in our college days we made mood boards. We didn’t do this crap where we found some background of an ocean to set our designs on. NO! We cut out pictures and pasted them on our mat boards. Now, you do it digitally, easily and quickly.
And you can share boards easily with clients/ contractors/ friends, or make boards of a cool paint color scheme and have it out there. And maybe you’re super awesome at picking colors, so someone sees your public board and says…
“Hey pretty mama, where can I be getting those colors for my crib?”
And you’re all like, show me the money and I be giving you the colors girlfriend! Yes, Wecora protects your design stuff, so you charge what you want and set up payment deets between you and the client. Wecora is just the super awesome tool that allows you to do what you do best. No, not that. DESIGN!
How do I get on the Wecora Train?
Are you excited?! I hope you are. So, because they care about your success and doing this right (and not letting in those non-designer types in who ruin the whole tool being for designers ONLY) they want you to schedule a Demo with them. Which at first I thought like I’m pretty savvy, I could get this on my own, well, I’m glad I had a demo. The tools are way easy to use that even a Kardashian could figure out how to use it, but it’s nicer to have someone show you how you could use it for your interior design business (and this isn’t just for the eDesigner, this tool will be great for eDesigner and regular Interior Designers alike.
